On Friday, January 9th, 25 of the Hairspray folks got together to recreate some magic memories at a cast recording session. Sound Slave Studios owner, Brandon McLeod, invited us to come and record songs from the show and we enjoyed every minute of it. Here are some snapshots of some of our soloists in the booth! We wish we could have fit the whole 72 person cast in that basement! Recordings are being edited and we can't wait to hear the final cut! Great memories! Thank you to the McLeod family for their hospitality!

A BIG THANK YOU TO THOSE WHO CONTRIBUTED TO OUR CAPA CARES ADOPT A FAMILY PROJECT THIS YEAR.
THE FAMILIES WERE OVERWHELMED AND SO HAPPY THAT WE WERE WILLING AND ABLE TO ASSIST THEM DURING THEIR STRUGGLE. HOPEFULLY THEY WILL GET BACK ON THEIR FEET AND PASS ON THE LOVE AND CARE TO OTHERS IN THE FUTURE.
ONCE AGAIN, CAPA PULLS THROUGH!
MUCH LOVE Y'ALL!
~Ms. Hillman
Happy New Year everybody...it's Ms. Hillman here blogging our first post of 2015.
The Good Doctor is underway and we built a set last Saturday. That set needs some good ole' paint and set dressing. So, we will be painting on Saturday, January 17th from 10-2 and again on Saturday, January 24th from 10-2 if needed. Bring a brush or roller labeled with your name on it...we will not provide brushes on these days.
CAPA ARTS CAMP is coming up in February....on Saturday the 21st from 9-3. Applications are due on January 23rd. Applications are on my school website. We could use some help passing this camp info along. Please spread the word anyway you can!
Over the break, we lost two people in our CAPA family. Mr. Porter lost his mom and we send the Porter family our deepest condolences on this tragic loss. We also lost Greg Reuter, a CAPA alum. He will be celebrated on Broadway this week. These two losses remind us to make the most of everyday and remember to tell the people close to you that you love them as much as possible. Hold your special people close to you.
As 2015 begins, we all need to focus on maintaining our focus in school, passion for the arts, good health and knowing that happiness comes from within.
Much love to all.
Theatrically Yours...
Ms. Hillman
